A project I have made during my exchange program.
I wanted to incorporate my world and history with the values of the Japanese traditional woodworking. creating a hybrid between my grandmothers sewing box to the craft I was inspired by at the time, Kyo Sashimono, Japanese fine cabinet making and its traditions.
The box is made of different levels, each of these floors presents a more complex type of joinery then the previous floor.
The box was made under the care and supervision of Professor. Hidenori Sonobe.
